Emily is the gal behind the blog Oh Hello, Love. She writes about love in its various forms, and for February (the month of love) she reached out to me, along with other fellow bloggers, to write a guest post for her Radiant series. Her only request was that our narrative be about love.
I dove through my memory for examples of love I've felt over the years, and I kept coming up with the same moments that I've already written about here on LITC in the past years. I shot Emily a message asking her if I could reuse a story I'd written already, and flippantly I added, "Unless you want me to write about how I pulled the quickest break up and cross country move imaginable, because I loved myself enough to know I deserved better."
And to my shock, she responded that she loved that idea the most.
So I did it. A year and a half later, I finally found the words to write the story.
You can click here to finally read it for yourself.

I just commented on Em's blog too, but I want to make sure you see what I said. I am so glad you shared this story. It's such an important story to tell and such a part of your life story that it's perfect. Thanks for daring to share this!!
Thank you for sharing your story. I am so glad you love yourself more.
Lacey I honestly have no words to say! I read this and sat in shock. I cannot believe you went through all of this, but so incredibly proud of you for doing what you did. I can't believe someone would do such a thing to you. You absolutely did not deserve it and you absolutely did the right thing by moving (quietly). You are so so strong! I think so many women need to hear your story. Thank you for sharing :)
Lacey, you have so much courage and love - thank you for sharing this story.
I am so honored to be hosting this story. I absolutely love it but more than that I love that you were willing to share it. How many of us have been in or have been close to someone in a relationship like this? And how many of us have talked about it openly so that other women can see and know that they're not alone.
Thank you for loving yourself and for loving others enough to share.
Love you Lacey!
It take a hell of a strong individual to realise that they deserve more than what someone is giving them. Especially when you love that person. You are awesome!

Thank you so much for telling your journey. It's funny how you can substitute names, places, and time and you would still get the same story from that asshole.
You really ar an inspiration that we will survive, and I am grateful that we got out of toxic situations. We should totally create our own lifetime movie!
It must've taken SOME KINDA STRENGTH to share that, and even more to leave. What an amazing woman you are!
So proud of you, Lacey! ~Mom
