ABOUT ME

Welcome!  My name is Lacey, and I write this blog.  I'm 26, a former New Yorker, a former San Franciscan, and a current Los Angeleno.  My career in Fashion rarely lends me to being the best dressed in the room, and "working in Fashion" is not always as glamorous as it sounds.  But even when I'm shlepping suitcases full of the season's latest accessories and working weekends, I'm
generally having a kick ass time.

Before I became a city girl, I spent my growing up years between the Carolina Coast and the Bluegrass State.  When my wildcard of a mom decided to transplant my sisters and me Westward when I was 15, I gradually began my transition from small-town Southern girl with a hint of a drawl, to a bonafide West Coaster who occasionally still fits a "ya'll" in here and there.  (I told the story of our move here
.)

I finished my high school years in Southern California, then headed to college in San Francisco.  Once my love affair with San Francisco ended, I then hauled everything back to LA to start my career in the Fashion Industry.  Finally in 2009, I took off to New York to take that career to the next level - which is when I started this lovely little blog :)

My years in New York City were full of late nights out, more glasses of prosecco than I dare to remember, epic trials of my spirit (the city is the toughest school you'll ever find), and so many indispensable and amazing experiences that I am forever grateful to have had.  I'm definitely a different person today because of New York City.

But, after three years of sky-high rents, roughing it through public transportation, and working my ass off, I realized that the priorities in my life - my family and my closest friends - were all back West.

So I made the bittersweet decision to return to LA in January 2012.  I found myself tackling a cross-country move for the third time in ten years, and this time, I actually feel like I'm home.

For now, at least.

I love, love the sentence "I'm definitely a different person today because of New York City". I only lived there for a year & a half, but I completely agree. it's quite the place.
