Pep talk.

Over the past few years, I've noticed a trend.

In an industry that practically requires you to start from the very bottom to work your way up the ladder, we tend to meet a lot of interns around the Fashion world.

When I meet interns, I don't always know right away that they are even interns and not full-time employees (which is awesome when you can't smell the fear, right?).  However, about 95% of the time, when I ask an intern what her (or his!) role is, she (or he!) answers, "Oh, I'm just an intern."

To which I can't help but jump immediately on and say, "Never...call yourself just an anything."

I think it's a good thing to remember for ourselves, to never belittle our positions.  Whether we are interns, part-timers, full-timers, stay-at-home-moms - those are some daggon big high heels (or ballet flats or whatever) to fill, and I guarantee you that no one would fill yours as well as you do.

Great advice Lacy! Valuing oneself is definitely one of the most powerful things a person can do.

It's one of those things we never fully realize...but it's true. We are never just anything. Ever!!!
