I love fresh flowers in my home. On the kitchen table, in a vase in the bathroom, a fresh bouquet on my bedside table. It just makes the space feel more feminine, a little warmer, + the obvious: it just makes it prettier.
I had a ritual when I lived in New York: Every Saturday morning, I'd eventually rise from my cozy bed, pull on some running-a-quick-errand weekend clothes, + I'd head first to my coffee/bagel joint, + then to the bodega on the corner to buy a new bouquet of fresh flowers (my favorites are peonies!) for my tiny little studio.
One of the boys I dated during my time in New York commented that women aren't meant to buy flowers for themselves. I suggested he buy them for me then. He never took my not-so-subtle hint (+ he is obviously no longer in the picture).
So here I am back in Los Angeles, making my new home cozy and feminine and beautiful, + of course, I have fresh flowers throughout my new abode. And it's really starting to feel like home. :)

Yes yes yes! I LOVE flowers!! It's funny you mention that the ex told you not to buy flowers yourself and it's funny because Rich gets mad at me when I buy them- he wants to surprise me! You'll know the right guy when he buys them for you without you dropping the hints! Ha!
Love your ritual...and I hope you continue that even here in L.A.
