I've mentioned before how I am so proud of my girlfriends and all of the incredible things that they are achieving. They're generally kick-ass, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I met Miss CM here in the city about six months ago, and I brag about her to anyone that I introduce her to. CM is an art therapist, and she spends a year at a time living in Namibia, four hours of a drive into the country from the capital, teaching Art Therapy to African children in the effort to give them a creative outlet. In between the school years that she spends in Africa, she is back in New York raising money for her non-profit organization and planning for her following trip. You can check out the website, Art Therapy: New York to Namibia by clicking here. Pretty amazing, right?
I was out + and about with CM this Sunday, browsing the streets of the Upper West Side, and over brunch, I asked her if she was able to have visitors during her time in Namibia. She said that she definitely could, and even more, she said that if I were to come, I could volunteer to help out for the week or so that I was there! I've thought about the idea of it all day, and it has officially become the #1 trip I'm going to plan for for 2011. It would be such a priceless experience and such a unique way to experience Africa firsthand!

Wouldn't you love to see this place for yourself if you had the chance?

It is so beautiful.
Oddly I was in a taxi and my drive was from Namibia and I asked him if he could take me on a safari (I had a lot to drink that night) and talked to his brother on the phone telling him that I was coming to visit.
I would LOVE to go there!!! It is my dream!
Do it! Do it! But only right after you come and visit me :)
Absolutely! The sky alone is breathtaking!
