Really? Really.
This girl, who lived for seven sunny years on the California coast, is coming to learn that the above has now become my weather.com reality.
How does it feel to wake up to a monsoon in the morning, you ask? Well, Dear Reader, I'm actually beginning to get acclimated to the concept.
No I'm not, I'm totally lying. I try to put a positive spin to the whole idea of 'torrential downpour', but when I sit here and recall this morning's process of shlepping through puddles en route to the subway and trying to strategically balance my umbrella to simultaneously cover my head, my handbag, and my laptop case... well, let's just say that it makes it just that much more difficult to find the weather forecast to be anything but annoying.
And then there's the whole getting dressed situation. I've asked it before, and I'll ask it again. Just what is a girl in New York supposed to wear when the forecast calls for 80 degree weather, heavy wind, and thunderstorms?
If you know the answer to that one, please, feel free to send suggestions my way. Because the skirt, linen top, and leather sandals ensemble I'm currently wearing was certainly not the smartest of choices today, let me tell ya.

You must invest in rainboots. Seriously. They will save your life. Carry your sandals in your bag.
At least it is cooling down?
Definitely not leather sandals. Aren't rain boots in this year?
Nothing with leather girl. Made that mistake once and never again. Ha!
I have flip flops I only wear outside and only when it rains. Inside I'm wearing some cute sandals (and I bring them with me in a bag!). Light clothes, just as if it wasn't raining and a bit chilly. ;) Again, enjoy the warmth even though it means it's going to be crazy weather. I think it just started to be like this over here. Love the cooler air though...not the rain but still....gonna enjoy it now! :)
Does this comment make any sense to you?! Sorry if not. My mind goes crazy today! :(
I agree with the others...wear cute rainboots and pack your sandals! And just remember...no matter how weird or bad you think you look, in NYC there's always going to be someone who looks WAY more weird or different :)
Hey
As someone who lives in the north of england and we see ALOT of rain, let me tell you, I always pack my sandles in my bag. Your fee will feel better for as well since your sandles won't feel gross from all the rain :)

hi! living in NY for almost my whole life i'll suggest in the summer sandals that you don't care much for & just change into cute ones once your out of the rain.
same thing goes for the fall/spring but in this case just get rainboots (they are cute ones out there)and even in the summer you can wear your rainboots that is if the weather is not like 95+
goodluck!!!
