The Home of JL²

On my trip to Kentucky back in April, I got to visit with my awesome family there, including my cousin JL and his new wife, who boasts the JL initials as well, hence the moniker I've given them here:  JL² .  (To make things easier, their first names are Jess and Joey.)  I had previously mentioned this cute couple here when I was showing off the veil that Jess chose for their wedding...how great do they look?!

I was lucky enough to have been welcomed into their home for the Saturday night of my stay in the Bluegrass State, and I couldn't get over all of the fun and cool details throughout their house.  I had to take pics, and have been meaning to share them for a while.  Jess & Joey, I apologize for the delay, but we'll just say that it's fashionably late, agreed?

I love the great pops of color in the dining room, and the pictureless black frame was one of my faves:
I love how the fun curtains and plates tie together with the awesome color that they chose for the walls.
And how sweet are the dove salt and pepper shakers?
Photos of family and friends are huge part of their home, which I think is so special:

They are painting the walls between their counters and cabinets in the kitchen with chalkboard paint so that they can write cute and witty messages to each other and their guests.  From husband to wife:
A great good luck charm above their front door:
They made this great table with wine bottle corks.  Joey made sure to note that they did not drink all of the wine bottles on their own!
Cute little touches of "JL" throughout the house... (notice the jar full of even more corks!)
And a cool painting with such a sweet story:  Jessica's grandparents painted this paint-by-number picture during their first year of marriage!  Don't you just love it?
And last but not least, you must meet Chauncy, their St. Bernard and the love of my weekend there:

Here's a cheers to the adorable couple, Jess and Joey, for welcoming me into your home, and for letting me share it here!  I can't wait for my next visit!  xoxo

These are some really adorable touches! I love the chalkboard paint idea and the blue walls are right up my alley. Wish my Husband liked color!
